Solvent and Oil Interceptor
Manufactured to custom sizes as required. Separates grease, oil and solvents from clean water in commercial kitchens and chemical prep areas.
The BRITEX Solvent & Oil interceptor is manufactured from 1.2mm grade 304 stainless steel. This unit is generally used in commercial kitchens and mild chemical preparation areas to separate and draw off grease, oil and solvents from waste water. Internally, the baffle slows incoming waste water, allowing solvents/oils to separate from the clean water, floating to the top, whilst the clean water draws to the bottom, entering the waste outlet positioned at the bottom of the tank. A sampler valve is fitted as standard to monitor water conditions. A trolley support underneath with castors for easy mobility is optional. Available in custom and standard sizes.

Q: Why do we need Trade Waste Tanks?
A: Trade Waste Tanks are used to allow contaminants to be contained and cleaner water to pass through to sewerage systems. Trade Waste Tanks have been implemented by Water Authorities to regulate the quality of trade waste water.
Q: What Is Trade Waste?
A: Trade waste refers to all liquid waste that is discharged into the sewer system from commercial, industrial, laboratory or trade activities. Contaminants may include grease, fat, oil, silt, sand, sludge, chemicals, soil, paint, clay, fats or detergents and other substances from activities such as in food preparation areas or as a result of any washing, cleaning or rinsing process.
Q: Can tanks be customised?
A: All trade waste tanks must follow strict design criteria, so while Britex have the capacity to manufacture these to custom dimensions written approval from the local trade water authorities must be obtained before production.
Q: How often should I clean the unit?
A: Maintenance will depend on usage. An arrestor used daily with high volumes of clay will require more frequent cleaning.
Q: How do I empty the unit?
A: Contaminants collected by trade waste tanks may need to be periodically cleaned out by an EPA licensed waste transporter. Industrial waste from your business can harm the environment if you don’t manage it the right way. Please refer to your state’s EPA for advice on how to manage industrial waste.
