The redevelopment of the Whittlesea Community Centre would not be complete without the addition of multiple commercial kitchens for communal use. These would serve as the headquarters for food preparation, service and storage. Britex were engaged to consult in the design, fabrication and installation of two fully equipped commercial kitchens that took into consideration usage, space and storage solutions.

Elements of the commercial kitchens provided for the project included:

•  Dishwasher Inlet and Outlet Benches
•  Fire Rated Stainless Steel Wall Cladding
•  Server Benches
•  Custom Stainless Steel Frame (Tuck shop)
•  Wet and Dry Benches
•  Custom Stainless Steel Bench
•  Tops with undershelves

The Whittlesea Community Centre (CAC) aims to provide Whittlesea residents with a state-of-the art community hub, which will offer a host of additional facilities, meeting spaces and storage. Key elements of the redeveloped CAC include: a new memorial hall that can cater for up to 200 people, and be used for social functions, 2 new maternal and child health consulting rooms, a new maternal and child health program room, a new, larger kindergarten room with increased capacity, accommodating 33 children (up from 25), a new multipurpose early years area providing extra space for occasional care programs and playgroups , 2 new multipurpose meeting rooms , provision for a future library, larger kitchen spaces, new administration area, more storage space, enhanced staff amenities.
