Britex Project Role

Despite conducting an exhaustive search, Architects Bates Smart were unable to source a high-end stainless steel undermounted sink that was both stylish and practical; and most importantly, to the exact size specifications they required. At this point, Britex was engaged to co-design and fabricate a sink that incorporated modern square lines, with rounded internal bowl cornersto allow for ease of cleaning. The end result was the supply of more than 80 fully custom fabricated stainless steel sinks that are fitting of Australia’s finest residential development that included one of the most expensive apartmentever sold in Australia ($18.2 million). During later stages of the project, Britex was also contracted to custom manufacture stainless steel shower channel drains in each of the apartments.

About the Development

150 Clarendon Street is a prestige residential development in East Melbourne and sets new benchmarks in Australia for high-end residential projects. Set to offer its residents luxuries never before seen in Australia, 150 Clarendon Street is the redevelopment of Melbourne’s Mercy Hospital and is part of the larger repositioning of the hospital precinct. Contained within the 12-storey structure are 86 apartments, club facilities, a private cinema capable of seating more than 20, a conference and meeting room with state-of-the-art multimedia and videoconferencing facilities.
